What we do with your data
We care about your privacy and like to keep things simple: we use your details only to handle your enquiry or reservation. Nothing else.
Which details we keep
If you fill in our contact or booking form, we receive: your name, your e-mail address, possibly your telephone number, and the details of your request or stay (arrival and departure date, number of persons). With a confirmed booking we also keep the invoice details. We never ask for more.
What we use them for
- Handling and confirming your enquiry or reservation;
- Invoicing your stay (we are legally required to keep invoices for seven years for the tax authorities);
- Being able to reach you about your stay (for example a cancellation or a question).
We do not send you newsletters or advertising, and we never sell your details to others.
How long we keep them
Bookings and invoices are kept for seven years (tax obligation). After that we delete your name, e-mail address and telephone number and replace them with a neutral label (for example "Guest 2019-01"). We keep the figures of your stay for our own statistics — they can then no longer be traced back to a person. Contact enquiries without a booking are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
You may always ask us which details we hold about you. Would you like something corrected or deleted? Send an e-mail to info@benbijdokkum.nl or give us a call, and we will sort it out. One exception: we must be able to show invoices to the tax authorities up to seven years after your stay — deletion is only possible after that.
Visitor statistics of this website
We anonymously measure how many people visit our website and which pages are popular, using Google Analytics. No cookies are placed in your browser and no personal data is stored. Our own visitor counter works in the same anonymous way. To see where our visitors come from, we also determine the country and place of origin while counting; the IP address itself is never stored. This way the figures stay useful for us — and your browser stays clean.
Who we share data with
In practice with no one, except:
- our hosting provider (STRATO), which runs the website and our e-mail. We have a data processing agreement with STRATO; they may use your details for this purpose only.
- a geolocation service that determines only the country and place of origin of a website visit. The IP address itself is not stored and is not passed on to others.
We do not pass on data to advertisers or other companies.
